Schedule of the tour
DAY 1: Palermo-Calatafimi (Monreale)
Arrival at Palermo Airport. Pick up the rental car (if requested – upon supplement) transfer to your hotel in Calatafimi area, in the afternoon you can start your wine and local products tasting trying the wine-resort of the hotel. Free dinner. Overnight.
DAY 2: Calatafimi (Monreale) – Palermo – Calatafimi (Monreale)
Breakfast at the hotel and leaving for a guided tour of Palermo including street food such as Panino con panelle e crocché. Free time for lunch. In the afternoon, visit of Monreale: Chiostro Benedettino and Cattedrale. Back to the hotel. Overnight.
DAY 3: Calatafimi (Monreale) – Erice – Marsala – Calatafimi (Monreale)
After breakfast, leaving to visit Erice. Here you will have a light tasting of famous ‘dolcetti di mandorla’ (almond sweets) and then proceed toward Marsala. Lunch in a local restaurant where to taste the sweet wine Marsala. Have the typical local dish: Fish cous-cous included in your lunch. Back to the hotel. Free dinner, overnight.
DAY 4: Calatafimi (Monreale) – Palermo
Breakfast at the Hotel and leaving for Palermo Airport. Release of the car (if requested). End of our services.
The tour includes:
– 3 nights in farmhouse/hotel in Camporeale-Calatafimi (Monreale) area (Sirignano Wine resort or similar) in standard room (overnights and breakfast included)
– 1 visit and tasting to the cellars of your wine-resort (biological wines – 45 minutes)
– 1 taste of street food in Palermo (Panino con panelle e crocché)
– 1 tasting of dolci di mandorla in a patisserie in Erice
– 1 of 2 Marsala wine tastings followed by a lunch in a agriturismo/cellar of the area – 3 courses (beverage included) – Baglio Donnafranca or similar
– Local Italian guide at your disposal to visit Palermo and Monreale (max 6 hours)
